Meadow Bank, Elterwater
|
Built at the turn of the century, originally home to the manager of the nearby gunpowder works, Meadow Bank has been in its time both a private home and a B&B. Set back from the narrow road which runs through the village, behind an old stone wall, the front of the house offers fine fell views to the north-west, while the rear views are across open fields to the beck.
View of Meadow Bank and Back Garden Front Garden When renovating, our aim was to create a beautifully furnished and luxurious holiday home which had all the equipment and comforts you are used to in your own home. Walls have been removed to create more space, new window openings created to take advantage of the magnificent views, new central heating, double glazing, re-wiring, smoke and burglar alarms, earth leakage and sound-insulation installed. Apart from the kitchen, which is quarry-tiled, the house is luxuriously carpeted throughout. The Gardens The mature gardens are well stocked with spring bulbs and flowering shrubs, rhododendrons and azaleas. There are two patio areas which can be used for barbeques on sunny days, one close the the Garden Cottage and one conveniently situated at the side of the main house. Our local gardener ensures the grounds are always neat and tidy. At the side of Meadow Bank is a gravel parking area. Here you will find one designated space for Garden Cottage guests and room for two cars for Meadow Bank residents. Click here to see inside Meadow Bank Click here to go to the Garden Cottage
